Conklin® Mark Twain Crescent Filler™ Superblack
The Conklin Pen Company® was established in Toledo, Ohio USA in 1898. From the Golden era of fountain pens until today, it’s regarded as one of the most significant and innovative American writing instruments manufacturers. Founder Roy Conklin patented the design for the first self-filling pen in 1901. With this patent, Conklin introduced a self-filling mechanism called the Crescent Filler™. The Crescent Filler™ has a piece of metal shaped like a crescent moon, that extends from the side of the pen, and is the key to simple and easy one-hand way to self-fill the pen with ink. The simple depression of the crescent engages the internal pressure bar to collapse the built-in rubber sac. Releasing the crescent allows incoming in k to fill the sac. In 1903 legendary author Mark Twain, the legendary American author, expressed the virtues of this unique self-filling fountain pen. The Crescent Filler™ became one of the most beloved pens in American history. ABOUT SUPERBLACK
The Conklin® Mark Twain Crescent Filler™ Superblack is truly an exceptional pen. It is made of solid brass, the surface of which is technologically treated and superblack coated to achieve almost completely matte black appearance. It absorbs over 99% of visible light at normal incidence which makes it the darkest substance known today. To enhance the elegance of each Mark Twain Crescent Filler™ Superblack pen, the clip and parts are adorned with multi-coated gunmetal plating. Each pen is engraved with Mark Twain’s distinctive signature along the band and is equipped with the original Conklin® spring loaded rocker clip patented in 1916. Tastefully engraved along the bottom of the cap is the limited edition number exclusive for each pen. The Mark Twain Crescent Filler™ Superblack is a limited edition run of 1898 pieces and is fitted with premium stainless steel JoWo nib in choice of Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub, or Omniflex point sizes, which allows users to choose one that complements their individual handwriting style. Each nib displays the brand name and is marked with special crescent-shaped breathing hole. Our quality control team tests each nib individually to ensure top quality writing performance. Each Conklin ® Mark Twain Crescent Filler™ Superblack is offered in a luxury gift box with a custom-designed sleeve.

After placing your order, you may click the "My Account" link at the top right hand side of our site to track the status of your order. You will receive a shipment confirmation when your order has shipped and tracking information within 24-48 hours of shipment.
How do I return an item?
We have a hassle-free return policy at Pen Place which allows you to return any non-personalized item, for any reason, within thirty (30) days of the date of receipt. The delivery date will be determined by your UPS or USPS tracking number. If you wish to return an item within the thirty (30) days allowed, please ensure the item is in new condition and has all original packaging that was shipped with your order.
If you would like to return an item, please email us at shop@penplace.com, or call us at 816-474-7500 and state why you would like to return the item. Pen Place will respond to your request to approve or disapprove return of the item. If the return is due to the wrong product or damaged product being shipped, Pen Place will send a postage paid return label. Otherwise, the customer will be responsible for return postage. Refunds will be processed when the item is received at Pen Place, and will be applied to the credit card or PayPal account used at checkout. Exceptions to the Return Policy
Shipping charges will not be refunded unless we made an error in the order or the item was damaged. Items that have been engraved cannot be returned unless their was a misspelling of the name. If an item is returned, but is not in new condition, the item will be returned to you and you will not receive a refund. No restocking fee for items unless they are marked Special Order. Items marked Special Order will be charged a restocking fee of 30% of the MSRP.
