Pilot is thrilled to introduce the latest addition to the Vanishing Point collection—the Birchwood Vanishing Point. Available in Black Birchwood and Red Birchwood, these exquisite retractable fountain pens feature rhodium-plated accents and nibs, blending timeless craftsmanship with modern innovation. Each pen is fitted with an 18-karat gold, rhodium-plated nib, available in Fine (F) or Medium (M) sizes.
Why Birchwood?
Birchwood was carefully selected for its elegant grain patterns, smooth texture, and comfortable grip. This premium material enhances the writing experience with its natural warmth while offering a distinctive aesthetic that sets it apart from traditional metal or resin finishes.
While wood is naturally prone to absorbing moisture, dimensional changes, and machining challenges, Pilot has overcome these limitations through an advanced resin-infusion process. From a manufacturing perspective, birchwood offers a unique advantage – it can be made thinner than other woods while still retaining strength. This allows for the creation of delicate components, like finely cut screw threads, that would be difficult to achieve with other types of wood. Even so, working with resin-infusion birchwood remains more complex than machining traditional metals or plastics, making each Birchwood Vanishing Point a testament to Pilot’s technical expertise and meticulous craftsmanship.

We have a hassle-free return policy at Pen Place which allows you to return any non-personalized item, for any reason, within fourteen (14) days of the date of receipt. The delivery date will be determined by your UPS or USPS tracking number. If you wish to return an item within the fourteen (14) days allowed, please ensure the item is in new condition and has all original packaging that were shipped with your order.
If you would like to return an item, please email us at contact@penplace.com or call us at 816-474-7500 and state why you would like to return the item. Pen Place will return your communication to approve or disapprove return of the item. If the return is due to the wrong product being shipped, Pen Place will send and pay for a return label. Otherwise, the customer will pay for and supply the return label. Refunds will be processed when the item is received at Pen Place. The customer will be refunded to the credit card or PayPal account they paid with and will be the next day after the item is received by Pen Place. Returns will be shipped back to:

Exceptions to the Return Policy
Shipping charges will not be refunded unless we made an error in the order. Items that have been engraved cannot be returned unless their was a misspelling of the name. If an item is returned, but is not in new condition, the item will be returned to you and you will not receive a refund. There is a 30% restocking fee for all returns.
